Robert Allen Albro, 44, Cogswell, ND, died Saturday at his home under the care of Mercy Hospice, the result of endocrine cancer.
Robert was born December 18, 1969 to Arlan and Linda (Bohnenkamp) Albro in Lisbon, ND. He grew up in rural Cogswell and graduated from Sargent Central High School in Forman. Following graduation, Robert was employed at Bobcat in Gwinner from 1994 to 2003 where he worked as a welder. In 1994 he married Jennifer Thompson of Oakes, ND, they divorced in 1996.
Over the years he worked as a welder at various other locations including Precision Stairs and Steel, DuraTech, Buehler and DMI. Robert was an excellent mechanic and enjoyed working with his hands. He enjoyed woodworking and gardening, and in the past year further developed his love of indoor and outdoor plants. Robert spent many hours this past summer building a Memory Garden and filling it with plants and shrubs.
Robert is survived by two sons, Cody Albro of Mandan and Jace Albro of Cogswell; his parents Arlan and Linda, Cogswell; a brother Randal (Shari) Albro of Aberdeen, SD, and a sister Amber (Matthew) Tschappat of Pierpont, SD; six nieces and nephews, Evelynn, Natasha, Katelyn, Alita, Evan and Adam. Robert was preceeded in death by two uncles, Darrell Albro and Kevin Lahren.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 12, 2014 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Forman, ND from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. with his memorial service starting at 2:30 p.m. An online guestbook may be signed at www.dahlstromfuneralhome.com
